PhD candidate Alex Pasqualini's contributions to the Cornell community are being recognized with the Exemplary Leadership Award from the Graduate School Office of Inclusion and Student Engagement. Alex was jointly nominated by the Music Graduate Association, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, and QGrads for their work advancing diversity, equity, access, and inclusion in the department, the university, and the broader Ithaca community. Alex's dissertation project examines activism and queer community building among late-20th century genderqueer performing artists. This award recognizes Alex's related, real-world action on behalf of marginalized people, particularly LGBTQIA students and community members but also Alex's graduate student community at large.
